A press release by Plateau APC Publicity Secretary, Mr Sylvanus Namang on Sunday,  mentioned that Umar formally joined the APC at his Chanso Ward in Mangu Native Authorities Space (LGA) of the  state.

He mentioned that the authorized practitioner defected with over 20, 000 PDP supporters from Mangu and Bokkos LGAs.
